Volkswagen T–Roc Concept

The Volkswagen Company is going to produce a new model that will come with a name Volkswagen T–Roc. The company showcased this model concept two years back, and it managed to hog the limelight. However, the latest developments indicate that a production version of that concept vehicle may be slated for sale in 2017. A new crossover SUV will be sold under the company’s Golf lineup.

Volkswagen T–Roc – Design, Safety, and Entertainment Features:

As per the latest updates, the vehicle is going to be based on the company’s Modular Transverse Matrix platform. The cabin will have resemblances with typical VW models. After several speculations on naming doing the rounds, the VW has revealed that the vehicle may be sold with T-Roc nomenclature. Size wise, it will be shorter than the Tiguan. The cabin will have a bright 9.2 in infotainment monitor.

Safety and Entertainment:

Not much is known about the safety and entertainment features to be present in the Volkswagen T–Roc. However, given the track record of the company, the vehicle will score high in both departments. The multiple airbags, traction control, and rear view camera are likely to be offered as standard. However, advanced safety features like blind spot monitor and lane departure alert may be optional. Similarly, the entertainment lovers will not be disappointed. The car will also come with top notch entertainment features and will have Smartphone support. Support for USB and Bluetooth will be there as well.

The upcoming Volkswagen T–Roc will get plenty of diesel and gasoline engine choices, as per the company sources. The 2.0-litre diesel engine will be offered with 181 HP and 280 lb-ft. The car may be sold both in FWD and AWD. A six-speed manual transmission unit will be there while a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox will be kept as an option. The VW may also bring plug-in hybrid and all electronic vehicles based on T-ROC Concept. Also, the VW says all the engines will far outshine the rival vehicles in emission efficacy. The car will have a top speed of 130 mph and accelerate time to 62 mph in just 6.9 seconds.

The Volkswagen T–Rocl will be showcased in the first quarter of 2017 only to be sold within a few months. The VW is yet to say anything on the pricing but the steep competition in compact SUV segment will ensure a reasonable price tag for the upcoming vehicle.
