The Volkswagen Company will redesign the current 2018 VW Tiguan L and this newly vehicle will be seven-seat SUV. As we know, it’s been almost a year since the Company shows us the recent Tiguan, but the car still isn’t on sale in the United States. Why? Because the Volkswagen is waiting for the construction development of this long-wheelbase model is complete. So far, we saw only the regular body style of the newly second-generation Tiguan, but now finally we have the photos of the stretched version. Those photos are spy photos, but they are not camouflaged and we can see a lot of new things and modified parts.
It is quite notable that this new 2018 VW Tiguan L is going to have longer rear doors. Also, one more different thing compared to the regular body style will be C-pillar treatment. Thanks to the bit wider body as well as to the increased length, this model will provide more space. When it comes to some other difference, everything will remain pretty much the same. That means that we can anticipate the same and very attractive front side. Here we can notice nicely designed grille with a chrome horizontal slats. The grille will be just like in the regular model connected with the same headlights.
The headlights will use the same LED technology and the same thing we can expect with the other lighting on the vehicle. The bumper is exactly the same, as well as the wheels.
The cabin of the 2018 VW Tiguan L will be also the same when it comes to design, but as we say when it comes to space we can definitely expect roomier cabin. All the seats will use leather as standard upholstery, and we can expect exactly the same dashboard. However, this model will provide more leather materials because of the third row of seats of course. If you maybe want more cargo space, you can fold down the third row of seats. The interior features in this stretched version of Tiguan will just like in the regular Tiguan. This includes modern air condition (maybe even the three zone), adaptive cruise control, a lot of options for safety, so many connectivity options, excellent audio system, most likely navigation system, the VW’s new Digital Cockpit, as well as many others as well.
The engine section of the 2018 VW Tiguan L will most likely remain the same. However, we can expect different engine options depending on the market. For the United States, we can anticipate a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 engine. This engine will be capable of generating up to 184 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. This engine will be available with the front wheel drive while the 4Motion will be an option. At this point, we don’t have information about the transmission system as well as about the EPA rates.
When it comes to price, 2018 VW Tiguan L is still far from the releasing, and at this point, there is no official information about the prices.
