Fuji Heavy Industries which makes the Subaru vehicles has taken the wraps off the 2018 Subaru XV Crosstrek. The upcoming vehicle was showcased by the Japanese company at the recently held Geneva International Motor Show 2017. The Crosstrek is based on Impreza but the 2018 model features a new styling, both inside and outside. Based on the company’s new Subaru Global Platform, it turned out to be a head turner at the Auto show earlier this year.
2018 Subaru XV Crosstrek – Unmistakable Exterior and Interior
The traces of Impreza wagon are still there in the 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. But the new exterior styling is unmistakable. The body cladding is more than what its predecessor has. The Subaru has used higher-strength steel in making the vehicle. Furthermore, the grille design has also been altered to an extent. Both rear spoiler and tail lamps look changed in the 2018 model. The roof rails and painted aluminum wheels add to the sleekness. Overall, you can find the SUV styling, much more than what the Impreza offers. The new model will offer two exterior colors: Sunshine Orange and Cool Grey Khaki.
Step inside and you can again spot resemblances with the styling of Impreza and the infotainment setup is now enhanced. Its seats are quite comfortable and they feature bright contrast stitching. The cabin is good for accommodating 5 passengers and there is a good amount of cargo space.
The 2018 Subaru XV Crosstrek features an 8.0-inch touch screen to control the Starlink entertainment setup. It supports Smartphone integration. Like the Impreza wagon, the new XV Crosstrek features the company’s much touted EyeSight active safety suite. The Rear Vehicle Detection combines reversing assistance, lane-change assistance, and blind spot detection. There are adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking.
2018 Subaru XV Crosstrek – Power Expectations
The 2018 Subaru XV Crosstrek is powered by a 2.0-liter boxer engine which now comes with 154 HP. It is aided by AWD. There is no manual transmission and all you get is a CVT setup. The Subaru has deployed noise insulating technology in the 2018 Crosstrek. There is no news about any turbocharged engine variant and hybrid powertrain that would be added. Its ride quality is expected to be top notch owing to the inclusion of the company’s Active Torque Vectoring setup.

The exact release date of new Subaru XV Crosstrek is not known. But from some rumors, it will be released in most markets by the middle of 2017. Official pricing is not known but it should not be much more than the 2017 model ($22,500).
