The upcoming 2018 Audi Q2 is the newest and definitely the smallest addition to the Audi’s increasingly popular crossover SUV family. With it, the German automaker wants to impress a somewhat younger audience. To do that, the Q2 will draw inspiration from the A3 Sportback model and rely on some of the features of bigger models. With a reduced size, plenty of engine options and a sleek design, the Q2 looks poised to shake the SUV market, and go against the competition, such as the Mini Paceman.
2018 Audi Q2 – Exterior Worth Noticing
Perhaps the most notable exterior characteristic of the 2018 Audi Q2 is its size. It is even smaller than the A3 Sportback. With this in mind, it is obvious that Audi wanted to focus more on the performance and style, not carrying capacity. Thanks to a new MQB platform, the Q2 will have plenty of versatility, flexibility, as well as durability. This platform will also allow the new SUV to feature some brand new technologies, found only in the latest Audi car models.
From a visual standpoint, the Q2 looks like a very practical and attractive model. It looks very sporty and athletic, while at the same time preserving Audi’s sense of style and class. To achieve that look, the German engineers have decided to add some new parts and redesign some old. The most notable exterior features include a lower roof, C-pillars, a revamped single-frame grille and bolder body sculpting.
Interior Style and Equipment
Even though much smaller than the majority of other SUVs on the market, the 2018 Audi Q2 will still offer enough space and comfort for both the driver and the passengers. It will offer enough headroom and legroom for 5 people, as well as a good amount of cargo space. The cabin of the new Q2 resembles those of other Audi models, in the sense that it is beautifully and smartly built. Just like the cabin of the A3, the Q2’s cabin will feature a minimalist dashboard architecture and high-quality materials. Some of these will include leather, exotic wood trims and a bit of chrome.
When it comes to the tech and equipment, the new Audi Q2 will offer something for everyone. For the driver, there will be a new driver’s interface with easy-to-use buttons, and a plethora of safety options. For the infotainment purposes, there will be the Audi’s MMI system, with a 7.0-inch display, DAB radio, USB and AUX ports, Bluetooth and more.
2018 Audi Q2 – Engine Output
The upcoming 2018 Audi Q2 will feature a variety of petrol and diesel engines. There will be 3 petrol variants and 3 diesel ones. The petrol ones will include an 116 hp, 1.0-liter turbocharged 3- cylinder, a 150 hp, 1.4-liter turbo 4-cylinder, and a 190 hp, 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder engine.
