2017 Nissan Rogue Sport is Qashqai for the US

The new 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport is known as Qashqai for the US market, and it is a smaller brother of the well known Rogue compact SUV. This vehicle debuted on Monday at the 2017 Detroit auto show. Its official release date for the dealerships will be in the spring this year. As we know, the mentioned model is on the sale since late 2014.

2017 Nissan Rogue Sport front

The 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport will be 12 inches shorter than the standard Rogue, or more precisely, its length will be 172.4 inches. Despite that fact, the difference in the wheelbase is only 2.0 inches, which means that we can expect a lot of space in the cabin, just like in the standard model. Also, we can expect the same platform for both models. There will be a higher usage of lightweight aluminum in the chassis construction on this newly Rogue Sport model. That will be very useful when it comes to overall performance of the vehicle.

According to Nissan, the Sport model (Nissan Qashqai) will provide more style, and it will be also more fun-to-drive. Some other details are pretty much the same. For example, we can expect the same Nissan’s Safety Shield that we used to see in standard Rogue. This system will include driver assistance as well as safety features such as blind-spot monitoring, forward emergency braking, rear cross traffic alert, pedestrian detection and lane departure warning.

When it comes to some details from the outside, this model will provide almost the same front fascia as the regular Rogue. Up front, we can notice exactly the same Nissan’s V-motion grille with some chrome materials as well as with the Nissan logo in the middle. Of course, the general impression of this model is that we can expect a little bit more aggressiveness. The interior design is also very similar like in the standard model, and in the cabin, we can expect a 7-inch touchscreen in the center of the dash. Also, some of the standard interior features of the recently developed 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport will include Bluetooth, USB inputs, adaptive cruise control, a rear-view camera, around-view monitor, and a lot of more as well.
