Still under wraps – likely in advanced design or testing phase, the 2017 Cadillac Escalade is part of General Motor’s family of vehicles related to its K2XX platform. This architecture was created to include full-sized SUVs and pickup trucks. The underlying engineering of the K2XX platform spells reliability, durability and strength, and was initially used in the highly acclaimed Sierra and Silverado pickups.
That will make the 2017 Cadillac Escalade the 3rd model year of GM’s K2XX-inspired models. As such, there are great expectations that this version will be the beneficiary of a MCE – or Mid-cycle-refresh – positioning the SUV for several updates and changes.
Let’s see what GM has in store for its customers!
2017 Cadillac Escalade Design Changes
It used to be that, when it came to big, flashy SUVs, the Lincoln Navigator was the only ride in town. But Cadillac changed all that with its Escalade range of vehicles. Having delivered significant architectural enhancements over its previous GMT900 platform, the K2XX architecture-based 2017 Cadillac Escalade is expected to offer established players like the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class and the Range Rover a run for their money.
With the 2017 evolution of the Escalade, Cadillac promises to bring in fresh new design improvements, as well as buyer-attracting performance upgrades. Changes are expected not only to the interior and exterior look, but also with respect to engine performance.
Also new colors will be available for 2017 Cadillac Escalade Platinum. These colors are Dark Adriatic Blue Metallic and Bronze Dune Metallic. Also Platinum trim level will include new 22-inch wheels.
It is unlikely that the 2017 Cadillac Escalade will come out with swinging changes on the bodywork front – with manufacturers expected to stick pretty close to their signature exterior form. Bold and modern, existing Escalades exuberate a feeling of power and strength behind the wheels – qualities that the Cadillac Escalade 2017 is likely to inherit.
The new entrant into GM’s Escalade family is likely to be unveiled with 20 inch chrome wheels, and is almost certain to sport other feature upgrades such as automatic wipers, automated LEDs for its front lighting, keyless ignition, rear and front parking assist systems, drive-side mirrors with auto dimming features, lift gate with hands-free ability and much more.
As part of its interior upgrades, the 2017 Cadillac Escalade will most likely support power-adjusted pedals, telescoping wheel, premium upholstery enhancements for steering and seats, digital camera support for rear view, multi-screen (4) infotainment system, satellite radio and HD sound system supported by top-of-the-line Bose 16 speaker system with noise cancellation technology.
2017 Cadillac Escalade Powered for Efficiency
Under the hood, the 2017 Cadillac Escalade is expected to support some great performance and execution upgrades. One likely option is an upgraded 6.2 liter V8 engine that will deliver powerful performance.
As an eco-friendly company, GM is likely to add its proprietary Active Energy Management features to the engine in order to deliver better fuel economy than that available with previous models of its Escalade series.
While still in its design phase, the exact release date for 2017 Cadillac Escalade has not yet been announced. However, given that the model has been branded as “2017”, industry experts suspect major movements and announcements in early 2016, offering ample time for production and marketing in late 2016 or earlier on in 2017.
Actual price is still not known, but we do not expect some larger increase.
